East Mountain had won 16 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 18-7 to make it 17. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Bosque Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-2 back in April.
Cole Darnell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Darnell was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Like East Mountain, Bosque also got a great game from a two-way player: Tas Lupo. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Lupo was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Aiden Carranza was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
