Basketball Game Preview: Taylor Allderdice Dragons vs. Westinghouse Bulldogs

Taylor Allderdice is 10-0 against Westinghouse since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Taylor Allderdice Dragons will host the Westinghouse Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Sunday, Taylor Allderdice earned a 72-63 win over Chartiers Valley. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Dragons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Colts are ranked 36th).

Lukas Stead was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Asher Schwartz was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Taylor Allderdice was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Westinghouse was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 61-56 to Perry Traditional Academy.

Taylor Allderdice is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Westinghouse, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Taylor Allderdice against Westinghouse in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 105-33 win. Does Taylor Allderdice have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westinghouse turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
