After flying high against the Oakville Acorns last Friday, the LaConner Braves came back down to earth. LaConner took a serious blow against Squalicum on Tuesday, falling 52-21. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, LaConner couldn't push the score so high this time.
LaConner's loss came despite strong showings from Kim Williams and Kiana Jenkins. Williams scored eight points, while Jenkins scored two points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for her.
LaConner's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Squalicum, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
LaConner will be home for the holidays to greet South Whidbey at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Squalicum will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mount Vernon at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
