The Allen Mustangs will be playing at home against the Hartshorne Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Allen at home against Savanna as the team secured a 48-12 win. The victory was just what Allen needed coming off of a 57-18 defeat in their prior matchup.
Allen's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bodee Garrett, who threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Brayden Tatum, who picked up 101 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Hartshorne fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Konawa 30-8.
Hartshorne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Moody out in front who threw for 319 yards while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing score. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelby Thomason, who gained 85 total yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-3.
Allen might still be hurting after the 39-13 loss they got from Hartshorne in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Allen have more luck at home instead of on the road?
