The Zephyrhills Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-55 to Wesley Chapel. While losing is never fun, Zephyrhills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Wesley Chapel is ranked 92nd).
Wesley Chapel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Murray, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Murray is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hicks, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Zephyrhills now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Wesley Chapel, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Zephyrhills will head out on the road to face off against Pasco at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wesley Chapel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Berkeley Prep will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
