The First Christian Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Corinth Christian Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. First Christian will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
First Christian barely beat Northside Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions never let Northside Christian Academy get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Brayden Pedersen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over six innings pitched. Pedersen was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Pedersen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Morgan Earnhart was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Colin Preston also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Corinth Christian Academy got the win against Northside Christian Academy on Friday by a conclusive 13-1. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.
Jace Campbell and Aiden Weatherington did most of the damage at the plate: Campbell scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Weatherington scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave Weatherington a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Smith, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Corinth Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Corinth Christian Academy back to even at 2-2. As for First Christian, their record is now 4-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. First Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Corinth Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
First Christian skirted past Corinth Christian Academy 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
