Softball Recap: Havana Wins Going Away Against Brown County

While Havana put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Brown County. The Ducks were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Hornets. The Ducks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaydi Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Maddie Howerter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Havana hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brown County struck out seven times.

Havana pushed their record up to 17-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Brown County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 19 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Havana will head out to challenge Astoria/VIT at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.43 runs per game on average), something the Ducks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brown County, they are taking a road trip to square off against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
