The Grasso Tech Eagles were the 60-57 winner over the Norwich RVT Warriors when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Grasso Tech received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 64-50 to Norwich RVT. Grasso Tech found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Grasso Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Charis Johnson and Ryan Gemaly. Johnson scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Gemaly scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelvin Paulino-Familia, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Norwich RVT's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collin Schulze, who scored 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schulze has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Connor McRae, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Grasso Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Norwich RVT, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5.
Grasso Tech will take on Tourtellotte at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Tourtellotte is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Norwich RVT, they will square off against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
