The Kamiak Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Jackson Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kamiak is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Kamiak will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Marysville Getchell last Friday. The Knights blew past Marysville Getchell 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Gabby Veighey made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Olivia Martinez and Kylee Bjella did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Bjella went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Martinez a new career-high. Hallie Moran also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Kamiak lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Jackson gave up the first runs last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over Woodinville.
Like Kamiak, Jackson also got a great game from a two-way player: Clara Dorgan. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Dorgan has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alana Banog, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mia Ediger, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Kamiak has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Jackson, their record is now 5-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Kamiak hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Jackson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
