St. Andrew's took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinewood Christian on Friday. St. Andrew's has struggled against Pinewood Christian recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amari Cook, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Richaard Williams, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Leading Pinewood Christian to victory were Banks Booth and Walker Todd. Booth threw for 221 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes, while Todd picked up 161 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
St. Andrew's' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Pinewood Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's will face off against Bulloch Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bulloch Academy will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Pinewood Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Frederica Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Frederica Academy is ranked 324th, while Pinewood Christian is ranked 308th).
