Softball Recap: Hart Victorious

Hart won the last time they faced Golden Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Grizzlies. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly four runs.

Hart let Jessica Gutierrez and Sadie Curtis run wild. Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Curtis went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those four RBI gave Gutierrez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. They are 6-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Hart and bumps their season record up to 7-13. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 4-14 Golden Valley and 9-10 Canyon. As for Golden Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hart will challenge Saugus at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Centurions will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Golden Valley, they will take on Canyon at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
