After flying high against the Calexico Mission RoadRunners last Tuesday, the Warner Wildcats came back down to earth. Warner suffered a rough 40-19 loss at the hands of Chula Vista Learning Community Charter on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 72 points in the game before, Warner couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Warner still got an impressive performance from Ayden Pulido , who scored five points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pulido has scored all season. Anthony Porras was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five steals.
Warner bumped their record down to 7-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Warner will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Horizon Prep at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 3:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. School for Entrepreneurship & Technology comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
