Basketball Recap: Onsted Skates Past Clinton with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Onsted on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Clinton Redwolves out of the water with a 71-39 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Onsted's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JT Hill, who went 9-for-11 to rack up 21 points and five rebounds. What's more, Hill also posted a 82% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aidan Paquin, who went 6-for-9 en route to 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Onsted's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Clinton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Looking ahead, Onsted will take on Grosse Ile at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Onsted is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Clinton, they will challenge Grass Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grass Lake has 21 straight victories, Clinton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
