The Dinwiddie Generals are taking a road trip to face off against the Clover Hill Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Dinwiddie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.
Dinwiddie gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Prince George 12-2. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.
Emily Jordan was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Jordan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Michaela Shell was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Addison Williams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Dinwiddie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Clover Hill waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 victory over the Lancers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cavaliers have posted against the Lancers since May 13, 2021.
The team relied heavily on Analia Reyes, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristyn Niles, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Dinwiddie's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Clover Hill, their record now sits at 11-4.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dinwiddie has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. However, it's not like Clover Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .474. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dinwiddie beat Clover Hill 5-2 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
