The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will venture away from home to challenge the Oley Valley Lynx at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bishop McDevitt sitting on three straight victories and Oley Valley on five.
Bishop McDevitt proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Gettysburg 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since April 7th.

Bishop McDevitt saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Boone, who went 2-for-6 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Boone a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Oley Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Brandywine Heights Area on Friday, taking the game 9-6.
Gryffin Cappellano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Vincenzo Fick was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Parker Detwiler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Oley Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Bishop McDevitt now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Oley Valley, their record is now 14-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop McDevitt has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Oley Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bishop McDevitt got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Oley Valley by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
