The Jefferson Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 17th straight defeat. They took a 49-30 bruising from Highlands. Jefferson has not had much luck with the Owls recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Marina Guajardo, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guajardo has scored all season.
Leading Highlands to victory were Andrea Garza and Zoe Barron. Garza scored 14 points, while Barron scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Jackson, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on the Brahmas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
