Skyline hasn't had much luck against Brighton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bengals at 12:00 p.m. Skyline knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Brighton likes a good challenge.
Skyline gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over West. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Jack Jaggi was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Skyline: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abe Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton PapaDakis, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .533 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after a string of 19 wins, Brighton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Alta by a score of 10-8. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bengals, who until this contest were averaging 2.36 runs allowed.
Easton Fry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Cooper Scott was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Skyline's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Brighton, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 17-1 and their overall record down to 19-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Skyline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Skyline suffered a grim 20-3 defeat to Brighton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
