Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence-St. Mel). They walked away with a 63-50 win over the College Prep of America Thunder on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

College Prep of America's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hamzah Shouman, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 23 points. The match was Shouman's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Malik Abed was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Providence-St. Mel's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for College Prep of America, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Providence-St. Mel will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Daystar Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
