On Friday, the Christ School Greenies ended up a good deal behind the A.C. Flora Falcons and lost 36-21. The Greenies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Christ School lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Niko Andrews, who picked up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Cancel, who rushed for 37 yards and two touchdowns.
A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Roper Wentzky and his top target Kendall Byrd. Wentzky threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns while Byrd picked up 207 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. A.C. Flora also got a significant boost from Brandon Mack, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 110 yards.
Christ School now has a losing record at 1-2. As for A.C. Flora, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ School will welcome Hebron Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hebron Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Christ School surely won't give up without a fight. As for A.C. Flora, they will square off against Laurens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. A.C. Flora is facing Laurens at the right time seeing as Laurens is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
