The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets were the 40-36 winner over the Larimore Polar Bears when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. New Rockford-Sheyenne took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Larimore on Thursday.
Larimore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Gratton, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and two steals. That's the first time this season that Gratton grabbed two or more steals. Baron Burns was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
New Rockford-Sheyenne's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Larimore, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
New Rockford-Sheyenne will head out on the road to take on Dakota Prairie at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Larimore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cavalier at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (Cavalier is ranked 36th, while Larimore is ranked 61st).
