If the Grassfield Grizzlies were feeling good off their 63-20 takedown of the Great Bridge Wildcats last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Grassfield took a hard 48-30 fall against Green Run on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grassfield has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Grassfield still got an impressive performance from Kennedy Reid, who scored ten points along with three steals. Reid has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.
Grassfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Green Run, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grassfield will challenge Tallwood at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Tallwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Green Run, they will head out on the road to take on Princess Anne at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Princess Anne will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
