Baseball Recap: CSTHEA Has No Trouble Against Lookout Valley

CSTHEA won the last time they faced Lookout Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Patriots have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Andrew Kerley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Connor Dodson and Colin DeMoss did most of the damage at the plate: Dodson went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while DeMoss went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Daniell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for CSTHEA and bumps their season record up to 5-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Lookout Valley, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CSTHEA will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Red Bank at 5:45 p.m. on the 17th. As for Lookout Valley, they will take on Copper Basin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
