The Everglades Prep Academy Panther and the Marathon Dolphins squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Everglades Prep Academy Panther had to settle for second. They lost to the Dolphins at home by a decisive 60-43 margin. Everglades Prep Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.
Marathon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CARLOS LEZCANO, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that LEZCANO scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of ADRIAN CRUZ, who scored 15 points along with eight assists.
Everglades Prep Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Marathon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-18.
Everglades Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marathon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Riviera Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully the Dolphins like a good challenge.
