Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 14 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Poudre Impalas proved on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over Fairview. The win made it back-to-back wins for Poudre.
Poudre's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaqueline Forrest led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Maggie Foster, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Remy Tolar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tolar hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Chang, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Poudre pushed their record up to 9-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Fairview, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poudre and Boulder will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Boulder focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday. As for Fairview, they will head out on the road to challenge Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
