Sunnyside is 4-0 against Madera South since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Sunnyside Wildcats are on the road again and play against the Madera South Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Sunnyside will be strutting in after a win while Madera South will be coming in after a loss.
On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Sunnyside in a 59-40 win over Taft. Given Sunnyside's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Taft is ranked 735th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Malachi Barnes, who scored 21 points. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Tanner Wilson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Madera South's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Buhach Colony on the road by a decisive 68-50 margin.
Sunnyside is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Madera South, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Sunnyside took their win against Madera South in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 78-54. Will Sunnyside repeat their success, or does Madera South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
