Trey Nurenberg turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Thursday. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pewamo-Westphalia is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

Nurenberg's strong effort led Pewamo-Westphalia over Bath and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are 7-0-1 against the Fighting Bees going back to April of 2017, a lead they'll look to extend.
