Make it nine blowout wins for the Jackson-Reed Tigers this season. They blew past Bard, posting a 68-3 win at home. That 65 points margin sets a new team best for Jackson-Reed this season.
Jackson-Reed's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aminyah Muhammed led the charge by scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Muhammed has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Sara Mesikir was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Jackson-Reed pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.6 points. As for Bard, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson-Reed will square off against Cardozo at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Cardozo comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bard, they will head out on the road to square off against Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
