The Boone Grove Wolves lost against the Westville Blackhawks back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Boone Grove took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westville. While losing is never fun, Boone Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Westville is ranked 145th).
Despite the loss, Boone Grove still got an impressive performance from Drew Jeffries, who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Jeffries scored a full 50% of Boone Grove's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Emily Veschak was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 assists.
Boone Grove bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Westville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Boone Grove will be playing at home against North Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westville, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday.
