Luther Prep took a ten-run  loss the last time they faced off against Deerfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Phoenix sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Demons  on Monday.  Luther Prep let  Danny Taylor and  Micah Westendorf run wild. Taylor  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  RBI and one  double, while  Westendorf  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  four  RBI gave  Taylor a new career-high.  Hayden Van Treeck also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
Luther Prep's record now sits at 4-7. As for Deerfield,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 6-6 record.
 Coincidentally, Luther Prep and Deerfield will both be playing Lake Mills the next time they take the field. The Demons will  host the L-Cats at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday, while the Phoenix will head out to face them  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
