The Hilltop Cadets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-44 victory over Hamilton. That looming 62-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hilltop yet this season.
Despite the defeat, Hamilton had strong showings from Jagger Hurraw, who scored 22 points, and Andrew Merritt, who scored 13 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Merritt posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Ritter, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Hilltop's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Hamilton, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilltop will challenge Gorham Fayette at 7:15 p.m. on December 19th. Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against JV Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
