3A Conference 10 recap November 19, 2013
Northern Guilford extended the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 10 this week by beating Eastern Guilford, 28-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Western Alamance took down C.B. Aycock 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
John Lamont provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Eastern Alamance beat Northwood. He completed 6 passes for 114 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 93 yards. Lamont's favorite target this week was Malik Wilson, who caught 4 passes for 148 yards.
Austin Coltrane put up the best numbers through the air as Northern Guilford defeated the Wildcats. He finished with a total of 9 completions for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns. Coltrane's favorite target this week was Molick Scott, who caught 3 passes for 61 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Coltrane and Cj Freeman, Robert Brian Thomas' team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Coltrane is tops in the league in passing with 1,602 yards, while Freeman has rushed for 1,319 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Eagles' Wilson, with 775 yards on 35 catches.
The Warriors are currently in first, while Eastern Alamance is in third.
John Kirby's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on the Chargers. Lamont ran for 93 yards in the win.
