The Community School of Davidson Spartans lost to the Christ the King Crusaders back in February of 2023, but the Community School of Davidson Spartans didn't allow the Christ the King Crusaders the same satisfaction on Friday. Community School of Davidson strolled past Christ the King with points to spare, taking the game 65-48. Given Community School of Davidson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Christ the King is ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Community School of Davidson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Austin Moran out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of John Shields, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Ryan, who scored 21 points. Drew Reimels was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Community School of Davidson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Christ the King, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson will square off against Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Langtree Charter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Christ the King, they will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Christ the King likes a good challenge.
