Even though the Shields Panthers have not done well against the Clarke County Bulldogs recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Shields snuck past Clarke County with a 47-42 win. The victory was familiar territory for Shields who now have three in a row.
Shields' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrian Watts, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Watts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Leffall, who scored 13 points.
Shields has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Clarke County, they have yet to win a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 2-6 record.
Shields will take on Brantley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clarke County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Jackson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
