After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Germantown brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Quitman Panthers on Thursday. With that victory, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Nolan Poynter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was John Riley North, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Germantown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Germantown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.
