Westport is 10-0 against Avon since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Westport Wildcats will be playing at home against the Avon Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Westport will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Westport stacked a third blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard back in January. They blew past Avon 45-24. Given Westport's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Avon is ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westport's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Avon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Westport took their victory against Avon in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 45-24. Will Westport repeat their success, or does Avon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
