After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Kennedy, Yamhill-Carlton was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They blew past the Willamina Bulldogs 49-20. The Tigers pushed the score to  42-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.
 Willamina lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Ben Moore, who picked up 175 receiving yards and one  TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging  an  interception. Another player making a difference was  Shane Mathers, who threw for 179 yards and one  touchdown.
Yamhill-Carlton's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Willamina,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-3.
 Coming up, Yamhill-Carlton will face off against Valley Catholic at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Willamina does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
