The Chiles Timberwolves suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Rickards at home and fell 78-35. While losing is never fun, Chiles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Rickards is ranked 41st).
Despite the loss, Chiles still got an impressive performance from Faith Durden, who scored 16 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.7% of Chiles' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chiles struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rickards pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.
Genesis Henry continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rickards, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jariyah Jordan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Chiles' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Rickards, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiles the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Madison County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Rickards, they will be playing at home against Godby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Godby is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
