The Hillcrest Jaguars lost against the Escambia County Blue Devils back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Hillcrest fell 46-36 to Escambia County. Hillcrest has not had much luck with Escambia County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Hillcrest had strong showings from Sonija Evans, who scored five points along with ten steals and six rebounds, and Khloe Clark, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Evans is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Escambia County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillcrest's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Blount at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Escambia County will take on Satsuma at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
