It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-37, which was the final score in Union Grove Christian's tilt against Burlington Christian Academy on Thursday. Union Grove Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Michalak, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Wykes, who scored six points along with two steals.
Union Grove Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 24-7 record this season. As for Burlington Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-5.
Union Grove Christian is on the road again on Friday and plays Gospel Light Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Union Grove Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against The Burlington School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in The Burlington School's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
