The Corner Canyon Chargers had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.1 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-0 win over Layton at home. The result was nothing new for Corner Canyon, who have now won nine contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Isaac Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 333 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 81 yards on only seven carries. Brayden Eyre was another key contributor, picking up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Corner Canyon's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.4 points per game. As for Layton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Corner Canyon will play host again and welcome Lone Peak, where Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Lone Peak is ranked eighth, while Corner Canyon is ranked second). Layton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
