Basketball Game Preview: Lee Park Prep Knights vs. Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors

The Lee Park Prep Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Metrolina Christian Academy is hoping to do what Gray Stone Day couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Lee Park Prep's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Lee Park Prep put the hurt on Gray Stone Day with a sharp 61-38 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Isaac Watkins was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 18 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole O' Donoghue, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Lee Park Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gray Stone Day only posted seven assists.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Metrolina Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 72-56 win over Walnut Grove Christian on Monday.

Lee Park Prep pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Lee Park Prep was dealt a bruising 60-27 loss at the hands of Metrolina Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lee Park Prep was down 37-9.
