1A District 7 recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 1A District 7 this week, Dixie County beat Wildwood 37-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Bears.
Dixie County took down the Wildcats 37-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Julian Robinson ran for 83 yards and caught 1 pass for 29 yards during the win.
Aaron Thomas was a passing and rushing force as Brent Wilkerson's team beat Wildwood. He completed 3 passes for 103 yards and also ran for 10 yards.
Caleb Cox put up the best numbers in passing as Union County bested Crescent City. He finished with 2 completions for 38 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Fightin' Tigers' Cox and Princeton Alexander led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cox has thrown for 1,356 yards this season, while Alexander has 17 catches for 280 yards. Williston's Keith Neal leads the league in rushing yards with 1,102.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Dixie County takes on second place Union County. Last week, the Bears defeated Jimbo Hale's team, while Union County beat the Raiders.
Ronny Pruitt's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,819 from 1,996. The improvement was largely due to a 41-13 victory over Crescent City last week.
