King's Academy has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Sacred Heart Prep took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on King's Academy, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, King's Academy got the win against Eastside College Prep by a conclusive 5-1. With that victory, King's Academy brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.
They hit Eastside College Prep with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Zander Guindy (3),
Bennett Lee, and
Michael Chan.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep fell victim to Harker's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0.
King's Academy pushed their record up to 12-4-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those ten games. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which is still a better percentage than their 2-8-1 record this season.
King's Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Sacred Heart Prep when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for King's Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
