Bartlett Yancey is 0-6 against Seaforth since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Seaforth Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Bartlett Yancey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Seaforth is ranked 17th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-31, which was the final score in Bartlett Yancey's tilt against Southeast Alamance on Tuesday.
Bartlett Yancey's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexis Farrish, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, and Jazmyne Henderson who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Henderson hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Seaforth waltzed into their game on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They strolled past Northwood with points to spare, taking the game 51-36.
Gabby White was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Katie Leonard, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Bartlett Yancey now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Seaforth, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Bartlett Yancey was taken down by Seaforth 57-17 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Bartlett Yancey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
