The Langley Saxons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 53-26 win over Herndon on the road. The win was just business as usual for Langley, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.
Langley found their leader in underclassman Maddie Shamloo, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. Peyton Daley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
Langley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Herndon, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Langley will be home for the holidays to greet Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Yorktown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Langley is ranked third). Herndon will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Middletown at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th.
