Brooks County was led to victory by Tamiah Gordon and Imani Hall. Gordon dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Hall scored 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gordon has scored all season. Rah'Asia Frazier was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Pelham's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sariyah Chester, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Truth Wimberly who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 34.1% of Pelham's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brooks County's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Pelham, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brooks County will face off against Pelham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Pelham's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Brooks County has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Pelham won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mitchell County at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Mitchell County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while Pelham is ranked 224th).
