On Tuesday, the Tolman Tigers faced the Rogers Vikings in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Tolman took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tolman has scored all season.
Tolman lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being John Hilaire, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hilaire pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Gelinas, who scored 18 points.
Tolman's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Rogers, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Tolman will be playing at home against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Rhode Island (Burrillville is ranked 13th, while the Tigers are ranked seventh). As for Rogers, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnston has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 832 points over their last 12 contests.
