Hopewell is 0-6 against Avonworth since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Vikings will challenge the Antelopes at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hopewell was handed a 12-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ellwood City, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted against the Wolverine since April 3, 2023.
Allison Ramaley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other pitching news, Hopewell got a great performance from Isabella Cipolla as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Cipolla has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Lillian Otto was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, while Avonworth put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Quaker Valley. The Antelopes put the hurt on the Quakers with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Antelopes, who have now won three matchups by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Avonworth got a massive performance out of Lexie Savatt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Gaby Interthal was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Avonworth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Avonworth is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Hopewell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.
Hopewell might still be hurting after the 17-5 loss they got from Avonworth in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
