Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield Central). They were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the Keenan Raiders on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Griffins needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Graeme Douglas was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Morgan, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.
Fairfield Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Keenan, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Central will venture away from home to take on Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Griffins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Keenan, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
