The Linsly Cadets posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Shenandoah and snuck past 56-54. Given Linsly's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in West Virginia, while Shenandoah is ranked 415th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Zeps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kinsley Brown, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Emily Moore, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Linsly's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Shenandoah, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linsly will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against John Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. John Marshall is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Shenandoah, they will head out on the road to take on Buckeye Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
